The International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Conference 2010 was held in Rio de Janeiro of Brazil from May 23 to 26, 2010. More than 800 representatives from all over the world participated in the Conference. DING Jianyong and Lu Xin were present on behalf of BAC.
The Conference was sponsored by CBAr with the theme of “Arbitration Advocacy in Changing Times”. More than 30 speakers, including lawyers, arbitrators and staff members of arbitration institutions delivered splendid speeches and made enthusiastic discussions on multiple topics including the arbitration advocacy activities in such stages as the initial stage of arbitration, expert witness, hearing, and execution of award, the procedural problems related to such activities and the relationship between arbitration advocacy and constitution. The participants also made good communication on the status quo and development of the international commercial arbitration during the Conference.
Twenty ICCA Conferences have been successfully held since the first one was held in Paris of France. The 21st ICCA Conference will be held in Singapore in June 2012.
