The Submission Guidelines
Each edition of Beijing Arbitration Quarterly generally comprises papers relating to Chinese and foreign arbitration, mediation, construction dispute review, and other forms of ADR, either theoretical, or practical, or introductory, including translated articles. We welcome the submission of papers from our readers. The submission guidelines are as follows:
1. The paper should be submitted in electronic format;
2. The paper should be in line with the focus and scope of the journal;
3. The paper should be approximately 5,000 - 20,000 words, except for articles that are exceptional or specially invited;
4. The paper should be prepared with a title of no more than 20 words, and subtitle if necessary, without using humble words;
5. The paper should be attached with an English title if the paper is written in Chinese, as well as the English spelling of the name of author if s/he is a Chinese;
6. The paper should be attached with a short biography of the author, both in Chinese and in English, providing the author’s name, company/firm, title, position, and any brief acknowledgment if needed, as well as the contact information including address, postcode, telephone number, and e-mail for communication and the ID number of the author for the payment of remuneration;
7. The paper should be attached with an abstract of its content and views within 300 words and 3 - 5 key words, both in Chinese and in English;
8. A translation work should be attached with the original text and the author’s written consent to the translation;
9. Authors should strictly observe academic discipline, and shall take responsibility for any infringement of intellectual properties;
10. The submitted paper shall not be returned to its author, and the author will be free to submit the paper to any other journal if s/he does not receive the notice of publication within two month after his/her submission;
11. The paper shall be deemed to be authored by the author(s) that are indicated in its submission, and the submitter should not request for any change to be made thereto after s/he receives the notice of publication;
12. The editor is allowed to make necessary revisions in the wording of the paper without seeking the author’s opinion, if such revisions are not relating to the substantive content;
13. The paper should not be an article that has already been published, unless otherwise determined by the editorial office, and the author should inform the editor of any such situation when making the submission;
14. The author shall, after his/her paper is published in Beijing Arbitration Quarterly, inform the editorial office of any reproduction or copy thereof;
15. Once the paper is published, the author shall be deemed to have agreed to authorize Beijing Arbitration Quarterly rights of the paper’s network transmission, wireless value-added business, and loading into relevant databases, unless the author specifically clarify when making the submission that s/he does not agree on such authorization. The royalty shall be paid jointly with the remuneration by the editorial office.
16. The remuneration shall be paid to the author once his/her paper is published in Beijing Arbitration Quarterly (100 RMB per 1,000 words for general articles and 150 RMB per 1,000 words for specially invited articles).
