In the afternoon of May 18, 2010, Dr. Bandar bin Salman M. Al-Saud, Prince & King’s Counselor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of Saudi Arabia Arbitration Commission, visited BAC accompanied by H. E. Mr. Yahya A. S. Alzaid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to China, and other entourage. Secretary General WANG Hongsong and some arbitrators of BAC, including TAO Jingzhou, CHEN Guang, TAN Jinghui and YANG Xiaochuan, jointly offered a warm-hearted reception to the guests.

Secretary General WANG Hongsong first expressed her whole-hearted welcome to the visit by the party led by Prince Bandar. She said that it is a great honor that the Prince chose to visit and have talks with BAC. Secretary General WANG briefly introduced the characteristics of China’s arbitration system and the development of BAC, especially the measures taken and results achieved by BAC in such aspects as ensuring its independence and ensuring the justness and professionalism of its arbitrators. Prince Bandar introduced the general information of Saudi Arabia’s arbitration system. The arbitrators participating in the talks inquired Prince Bandar about such information as relevant provisions in the laws of Saudi Arabia on arbitration, the qualification of arbitrators and the supervision on and execution of the arbitration awards by the courts of Saudi Arabia. Prince Bandar showed great interest to the introduction about BAC and the questions raised by the arbitrators, and he answered these questions in high spirits.

After the talks, Secretary General WANG Hongsong and the participating arbitrators accompanied the party led by Prince Bandar to visit the Conference Hall, the Arbitration Halls, and modern office equipment and computer management system of BAC. Prince Bandar sang highly of the rapid development, modern office equipment and effective administration of BAC and expressed that the arbitration circles of Saudi Arabia is willing to carry out business exchanges and cooperation with BAC.
