Singapore Legal Delegation Visited BAC

On June 28, 2011, headed by Mr. PANG Kin Keong, the Permanent Secretary from Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Singapore, the Singapore delegation with 14 delegates has visited BAC. The members of the delegation include Director - Greater China of the Singapore Economic Development Board Mr. Beng Kong Pee, the Chief Executive Officer of SIAC Mr. Minn Naing Oo, the Executive Director of Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration Mr. Lee Wai Pong, and a number of senior partners from well-known Singapore law firms.

Ms. Wang Hongsong, Secretary-General of BAC, along with Mr. Chen Cong, Director of the Second Division of BAC’s Office, warmly greeted the visiting guests and had a meeting with the delegation. Mr. PANG Kin Keong introduced the purpose of the delegation’s visit, the Singapore government’s efforts to promote international arbitration, and the general situations of Chinese enterprises’ arbitration in Singapore.

Singapore guests are watching the video clips introducing BAC Ms. Wang Hongsong told Mr. PANG Kin Keong that BAC is co-holding moot arbitration trainings to fresh lawyers with Beijing Lawyers Association and the Continuing Education School of China University of Political Science and Law.

Ms. Wang Hongsong introduced to the guests on BAC's history, management philosophy, development objectives, institutional characteristics, number and types of cases, mechanism and measures to maintain impartiality, independence and efficiency, and the efforts to shoulder social responsibility. Then, the two sides had a full exchange on how to strengthen management and training of arbitrators, how to improve the efficiency of case handling and how to better fulfill social responsibility. After the meeting, Ms. Wang Hong Song showed the guests around BAC’s modern work place.

BAC’s advanced management system, high efficiency as well as high-class working environment and facilities left a deep impression on the members of Singapore legal delegation. The guests expressed their wishes to explore more cooperation opportunities with BAC and jointly promote the development of international commercial arbitration.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
