Beijing Arbitration Commission was Invited to Attend the 2011 China Corporate Legal Affairs (“CCLA”) Annual Conference & CCLA Thirty-person Forum Launch Ceremony

2011 China Corporate Legal Affairs Annual Conference & CCLA Thirty-person Forum Launch Ceremony, which was sponsored by Faren1 Magazine and under the guidance of Legal Daily2, was successfully held in Beijing Zhuteng International Building from November 26 to 27, 2011. The Beijing Arbitration Commission (the BAC), the Department of Polices and Regulations of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of The State Council3, the Association of Corporate Counsel4, the Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment5, Beijing Lawyers Association6, and Enterprise Intellectual Property Salon7 were the special co-supporting organizations.

The purposes of the annual conference were to explore the trend and hot spots of corporate legal sector, promote the growth of corporate legal staff, and enhance the dialogue and communication between the corporate legal sector and related governmental authorities, the circle of lawyers as well as the media. During the topical discussion of “Corporate Legal Practices for China Overseas Investments”, division chief of the BAC Chen Fuyong made a speech of “How to Avoid the Legal Risks in Dispute Resolution in Overseas Investments”. He pointed out that Chinese corporations were weak in their awareness of designing the dispute resolution provisions in advance to avoid risks. He suggested that corporations make up clear dispute resolution policies and strengthen knowledge management and relevant trainings; Competent authorities or trade association provide necessary guidance. He also hosted the round-table discussion focused on overseas investment.

The CCLA Thirty-person Forum consisted of a group of renowned senior corporate legal officers from both well-known domestic enterprises and multinational corporations in China who have made efforts to improve the healthy and rapid development of China’s corporate legal profession. The scheme of the forum included an annual theme meeting to have in-depth and multilevel communication on current hot and difficult issues concerning corporate legal affairs, voting for China’s annual outstanding corporate legal officers; arranging special research, holding small scale seminars, etc.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
