Training Program Lecture for Second Session of “Caijing” Scholarship Successfully held at Beijing Arbitration Commission

On the afternoon of September 24, 2012, a training program lecture for the second session of “Caijing (means finance in Chinese)” scholarship which was organized by the National School of Development of Peking University was successfully held at the Second International Conference Hall of the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC). The topic of the lecture is “the Difficulties and Hope of China’s Arbitration” which was given by Wang Hongsong, deputy director of BAC. Chen Fuyong, a department chief of BAC received and accompanied the trainees.

Lu Jingfei, the director for public relationships of the National School of Development of Peking University, briefed on the scholarship program. Beginning with the definition and characteristics of arbitration, Deputy Director Wang Hongsong gave an in-depth presentation to the trainees the advantages of arbitration in its professionalism, confidentiality, flexibility, accessibility, being economical, jurisdiction ascertain and easy execution in simple language, and then, in light of arbitration laws and the background of the structural reform on arbitration, she analyzed in detail the difficulties facing China’s arbitration and how BAC seeks prospect in its practice, continues structural reform to put it back to the civil society as well as institutional innovation to guarantee justice and independence, and how it makes efforts to train an arbitration personnel of high professionalism and efficiency. The trainees include senior journalists, chief editors and department chiefs of renowned media, such as China Central Television, China National Radio, China Daily, Xinhua News Agency, South China Daily, Phoenix Weekly and South People Weekly, etc. They spiritedly raised questions and had deep discussions on the strengths and weaknesses compared between arbitration and litigation, the professionalization of arbitration and the practice of BAC; Wang Hongsong and Chen Fuyong took the questions and elaborated them for the trainees. With the deepening of arbitration structural reform and the wide spread of modern arbitration system, BAC has embarked on an stable and high-speed path of development through its practice and is sufficient in its capability to transform itself into a diversified dispute resolution center offering internationally integrated services of arbitration, mediation, and construction dispute adjudication.

The trainees visited the modernized office facilities of BAC after the subject lecture. Afterwards they expressed that they were impressed by the modernized office facilities of BAC and took group photos to mark the occasion in succession. They also said they would look forward to participating in all professional forums and salons organized by BAC.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
