Department chief of the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) Chen Fuyong and secretary of BAC Xu Jie were invited by the Securities Association of China to go to Beijing National Accounting Institute on the afternoon of September 27, 2012 to conduct trainings on the topic of “The Ideas and Skills of Modern Commercial Mediation” for the trainees of the mediators training program of the association. The trainings were sponsored by the Securities Association of China with the purpose to deepen the understandings of securities mediators about the fundamental knowledge, meaning and legal environment of mediation so as to promote their skills of mediation.
Department chief Chen Fuyong and secretary Xu Jie, taking ideas and skills of modern commercial mediation as main lead, shared with the trainees the experience in a large number of real mediation cases, presenting a full picture of the course of exercising mediation skills in practice. Firstly, beginning with the definition of a dispute in a commercial environment, department chief Chen Fuyong systematically introduced the framework of diversified modern dispute resolution and the advantages of modern commercial mediation, and then, based on a large amount of mediation cases, secretary Xu Jie elaborated on the fundamental types of modern commercial mediation and the application scope of various mediation styles. Successively, through simulating a real mediation case, they lively demonstrated the whole process of modern commercial mediation and the specific methods for exercising mediation skills. In the end, taking a real mediation case he involved in as an example, secretary Xu Jie analyzed in-depth the flexible selection of particular mediation skills and its effect in terms of modern mediation ideas.

Their presentations, which integrated theories with practice, conveyed the ideas as well as the skills of modern commercial mediation, arousing keen interest among the attendees and widely admired by them. They hoped that the mediation center could give further trainings and presentations on the exercise of mediation skills in practice. By the virtue of well established diversified dispute resolution platform, the center not only handles and resolves commercial disputes in reality, but also has been endeavored to study and promote modern commercial dispute resolution, including the localization of advanced mediation theories and experience around the world which is one of the primary jobs of the center.
