On the afternoon of October 26, 2012, a party of overseas students of LLM Chinese law Program of School of Law of Tsinghua University led by the school teacher Liu Jieying went to Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) on a study tour.
Secretary of BAC Chen Xi warmly welcomed the visiting teacher and students on behalf of BAC. Firstly, Liu Jieying extended thanks to the commission for offering a platform for understanding China’s arbitration for the students of Tsinghua University, and the students expressed that they highly valued such an opportunity for study, and then the secretary Chen Xi introduced to the students the basic information about BAC by playing its English promotion video and through detailed PowerPoint demonstrations, highlighting the achievements made by BAC in arbitration involving a foreign party, the characteristics of its arbitration rules and the outline of its development. After the presentation, students were spirited to give their speeches and had fruitful communication over the issues they were interested in, such as the nature of BAC, the confidentiality and evidence rule of China’s arbitration, etc.

After that, being ushered by the secretary, the teacher and students toured around the arbitration hall, case filing hall and library, during which they asked in passion about the routine jobs of the case handling secretaries and expected to know more about the arbitration procedures. Liu Jieying presented BAC with a gift on behalf of the School of Law of Tsinghua University after the tour and hoped that BAC could continue to arrange more interactional activities of this kind.
