On May 7, 2013, One dozen international students of Master in Chinese Law At Peking University visit BAC. Master in Chinese Law is an LLM program at Peking University and is focused on Chinese civil and commercial laws. The program is in English and the students are from all over the world.
At first, the students watched the video of “establishing credibility” which introduced Beijing Arbitration Commission (“BAC”) and got to know the history, concept and development of BAC. The video introduced BAC from the perspective of non-governmental orientation, independence and justice, professional pursuit, honesty and high efficiency, international connection and development, revealed the reasons of the fast development of BAC since its establishment, and demonstrated constant pursuit of BAC for credibility. Afterwards, the students communicated with Wang Ze, a staff member of BAC, and exchanged ideas on various topics, including arbitration and litigation, Chinese arbitration and international arbitration, arbitration procedures, arbitration institutions and arbitrators. Then the students visited the arbitration hall, conference room, case filing chamber and library of BAC. The students learned more about arbitration, especially BAC, through the visit and many of them hoped to have the opportunity to participate in practical activities of arbitration themselves and become professional arbitrators.
