Staff Members of BAC Exchanged Ideas with Students of the Department of International Law of China Foreign Affairs University

On the afternoon of May 15, 2013, case managers of BAC visited China Foreign Affairs University—Changping, and exchanged ideas with students of Department of International Law on arbitration practice and legal studies.

He Wanzhong, Director of the Department of International Law of China Foreign Affairs University, warmly welcomed the staff members of BAC. He indicated that BAC, as a leading arbitration institution in China, owned rich arbitration practice. The students could learn from the first-hand practical experience through the communication with the staff members of BAC, which would be helpful to improve the thinking and skills of the students in legal practice.

Afterwards, the secretaries of BAC made an extensive communication with the students. Wang Ze, Secretary of BAC, briefly introduced the arbitration system and basic information of BAC. Later, combining his work experience as a case handling secretary, he made a short presentation about career planning. He also distinguished roles and functions of different legal professions in arbitration.. Lin Xiaolu, Secretary of BAC, by combining his learning and work experience, suggested the students to emphasize on the interpretation of laws during undergraduate studies, pay attention to the study of both substantive law and procedural law, grasp all opportunities to practice and do more thinking and training in practice. Zhai Xueming, Secretary of BAC, introduced the significance of learning law and applying law, the interaction between law and other fields, and the necessity of ADR, such as arbitration .

Then the students enthusiastically raised questions about arbitration theory and practice, and the staff members of BAC answered their questions with patience.

Through the exchange of ideas, the students got  thorough knowledge of the arbitration system and basic information of BAC, learned the transformation progress from law majors to legal professionals, and had a clear comprehension of the professional development path for law majors. Many students hoped to carry out practice in BAC so as to learn about and study arbitration more closely.
