On July 1, 2013, the seminar of “Developers and Construction Disputes”, organized by the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) with the support of BAC, was successfully held in Holiday Inn Tianjin Riverside.
This seminar invited several renowned Chinese and international experts in real estate and construction laws. The Chinese and overseas participants offered a cross-cultural perspective for the discussions on topics including the unique commercial and legal risks in real estate development in China, the potential risks and dispute resolution in joint ventures and merger & acquisition among developers, the legal issues faced by developers as owners, the choice of applicable laws and other related issues. Kevin Nash, from the SIAC, gave a presentation of the SIAC and the rules and features of its arbitration. The participants and the keynote speakers went into in-depth discussions on several hot spot issues.

This seminar provided a great opportunity for learning and exchanges. It gave the developers, both at the developers, both home and aborad served as a guidence r, home and abroad, guidance on how to effectively manage and resolve relevant legal issues, enhanced their awareness of risk prevention, and increased their understanding of arbitration.
