Seminar on Disputes Resolution on International Oil & Gas Disputes was Held

For helping Chinese enterprises learn the mechanism of international oil & gas disputes resolution, and effectively utilize the mechanism to diminish economic friction, resolve problems and reduce cost, the Beijing Arbitration Commission (briefly the BAC) hosted the Seminar on Disputes Resolution on International Oil & Gas Disputes on September 26, 2006.
The invited speaker, Mr. Hew R. Dundas, Deputy President (2006) and President-Elect (2007) Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and arbitrator of the BAC, introduced the types of disputes in Oil & Gas Industry and the Dispute Resolution Clauses & Options in this field. At the closing of the lecture, he discussed with the participants mainly from law firms, universities and oil companies, such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) about how to choose an effective disputes resolution method and what institutions are reliable. This seminar has paved the way for Chinese oil companies to protect their rights and interests in international market.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
