On 14 May 2018, a Singapore Ministry of Law Delegation led by Mr. Han Guoyuan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Singapore Ministry of Law, visited the Beijing Arbitration Commission (the “BAC”). Madame Wang Hongsong, Vice President of the BAC, Mr. Lin Zhiwei, Secretary General of the BAC, and Dr. Chen Fuyong, Deputy Secretary General of the BAC, jointly received the delegation. It was Mr. Han’s second visit to the BAC since 2017, mainly aiming to learn about Chinese arbitration institutions’ efforts in response to the Belt and Road Initiative such as building the Belt and Road diversified dispute resolution mechanism. Madame Wang, Mr. Lin and Dr. Chen introduced the studies and events conducted by the BAC in support of the construction of the Belt and Road diversified dispute resolution mechanism, respectively. Mr. Han highly praised the BAC’s endeavors in this respect and looked forward to promoting further cooperation between the BAC and relevant Singaporean institutions.
