On 19 November 2019, the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center (the “BAC”) delegation led by Dr. Chen Fuyong, Deputy Secretary General of the BAC, paid a visit to the Economic and Commercial Section of Chinese Consulate General in Brisbane during its stay in Brisbane for the 2019 Australian Arbitration Week, and had meeting with Consul Mr. Cheng Yangchun and representatives of Chinese enterprises on commercial disputes resolution.

In recent years, the BAC has held roadshows on commercial dispute resolution in China overseas, and thereby developed its international business, served foreign enterprises, and gradually showed the advantages of selecting the BAC arbitration in resolving Chinese enterprises’ disputes in their overseas business. Representatives of Chinese enterprises fully appreciated the BAC’s achievements in recent years, and believed that arbitration is an effective method of resolving commercial disputes, which they will consider using in the future. Mr. Cheng Yangchun, Consul of the Economic and Commercial Section, spoke highly of the role international arbitration has played in commercial dispute resolution. He said that they will provide strong support to the BAC’s business development in Australia, and hoped that the BAC could provide qualified legal services to promote the China-Australia economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.
